2008 so far:
May 8th I collected some wonderful, just-picked-that-morning, asparagus from Court Place Farm at Withycombe near Dunster on May10th; two days after they began harvesting. You can buy at the farm or order for postal delivery see www.asparagusbypost.co.uk
June 12th; we walked to Rodney Stoke, at the foot of the Mendips and collected asparagus from the Mann's organic farm (featured in Time for Somerset)
All year round: Glastonbury Abbey ruins and grounds are open throughout the year; a magical oasis where I recently saw woodpeckers nesting among the apple blossom (see chapter 4). The annual season ticket is a must.
Copies of Time for Somerset will be there to read when visitors book one of the lovely little cottages a few minutes from the Abbey. see www.glastonburyholidayhomes.com
June 28th I am at the Wedmore Street Fair all day, held in the borough, but not in Saxon dress!
